Hercules, Triton n Maenads - Digital Printed Square Twill Silk Scarf
A floral print designed to resemble the illustrations of an archaic greek amphora. Details of Attic pottery depicting Hercules, Triton and Maenads dancing, dated 550/530 BC.
Triton is a sea god and son to Poseidon. The source of his power is his trident. Once, the trident was stolen by pirates, Hercules and Aphrodite convinced the Cabiri; an elemental force of nature that predates the deities, to create a new one for Triton.
The term maenad has come to be associated with a wide variety of women, supernatural, mythological, and historical that have been depicted in art as erratic and frenzied women enveloped in a drunken rapture.
