Disk of Phaistos -Silk Twill Digitally Printed Square Scarf
A floral patterning print silk scarf with the symbol of Disk of Phaistos, a genuine Minoan artifact with great archaeological value.
The disk is made of fired clay from the Minoan palace of Phaistos on the island of Crete, possibly dating to the middle or late Minoan Bronze Age (1700BC). It is covered with inscribed symbols on both sides that are unlike of any other signs in any other writing system remaining still an enigma. The inscription was apparently made by pressing pre-formed hieroglyphic "seals" into the soft clay, in a clockwise sequence spiraling toward the center of the disk. It was then fired at high temperature. The unique character of the Phaistos Disc stems from the fact that the entire text was inscribed in this way, reproducing a body of text with reusable characters.
It was discovered in the ancient city of Phaistos in Southern Crete, GREECE, in 1908.
